Whoopi Goldberg interrupted the talk show ‘The View’ this Tuesday to reprimand a member of the public for recording the broadcast of the program with his cell phone, without authorization.
According to the Independent newspaper, the moment happened during an argument about former President Donald Trump’s ongoing fraud case.
Goldberg, 68, asked co-host Sunny Hostin to “Wait a second” and after getting up addressed the audience and asked the viewer who was recording to stop doing so.
“Sir, I have to stop you with the camera because I can see you,” Goldberg said.
“Then do me a favor, don’t take it back again. I would appreciate that, thank you,” he added.
The rest of the public applauded the reaction of the EGOT winner, while Behar, also a co-host on the show, remained confused about what happened.
In the video posted on social media, Behar can be heard asking “What was he doing?” and Sara Haines, another of the co-hosts to respond “recording”.
The use of cell phones during the recording of ‘The View’ is prohibited. All cell phones must be on silent or switched off during the live broadcast to avoid interruptions.
