Iolanda explains to foreign journalists why she sings in Portuguese at Eurovision: “No language is a barrier”

At a press conference with the top 10 qualified for the final of the Eurovision Festival, Iolanda was asked why she sang in Portuguese, her mother tongue, in ‘Grito’.

No language is a barrier. I believe there is a connection with it, with the sound it produces it can make peace, as if by magic”, he replied, succinctly.

Iolanda, remember, qualified this Tuesday for the grand final of the Eurovision Festival, in what was the first semi-final of the event. The passage to the final guaranteed the fourth consecutive qualification for Portugal, after Black Mamba (2021), MARO (2022) and Mimicat (2023).

The final takes place next Saturday, at the Malmö Arena, in Sweden. These are the songs that qualified in the first semi-final:
