O The overwhelming success of the miniseries ‘Baby Reindeer’, which premiered just over a month ago on Netflix, generated a lot of curiosity among viewers as it is a true story of persecution and sexual abuse.
The protagonist and creator of the series, Richard Gadd, was a comedian at the beginning of his career when he was the victim of a ‘stalker’. His shocking experiences inspired the new streaming platform phenomenon, which is receiving widespread critical praise.
In addition to the victim, since this is a series based on a true story, viewers began to become interested in knowing who the real Martha Scott, played by Jessica Gunning, is. And, in April, on social media, a name began to emerge: Fiona Harvey.
Now, on the night of this Thursday, May 9th, the persecutor not only came forward, admitting that she is the real Martha Scott, but also gave an interview lasting around 30 minutes to journalist Piers Morgan, to tell her “version”. of the events recounted in ‘Baby Reindeer’.
During the conversation, the Scottish lawyer accused the creator of the miniseries of being “psychopath and misogynist” and guarantees that the story is “full of lies”, revealing that she will sue Richard Gadd and Netlflix for defamation.
To Piers Morgan, Fiona stated that she didn’t watch the series because “it would look bad” and that she only found out that they already knew she was the real Martha when the Daily Mail contacted her.
Faced with more than 41,000 emails, 350 hours of voicemails, 744 tweets and 46 Facebook messages allegedly sent to Richard, Fiona denied everything. She said that she never sent voicemails to the comedian, never contacted him via Facebook and that she wrote only “a few” tweets and “far fewer” emails than reported.
“A person who sends all these emails would be obsessed with him, I wasn’t that person,” he declared.
According to Fiona, Richard suffers from serious psychiatric problems, since “whoever does what he did – lie and invent – has a psychotic disorder”. “He should look at himself, he needs help,” she shot back.
During the interview, Piers Morgan also questioned the Scottish woman about the persecution of Richard’s family and girlfriend, which Fiona also refused to do, adding that “he didn’t have a girlfriend, he’s homosexual.”
Fiona also asserted that it was never the home of the now creator of the series, nor was he her home. Who always paid for her things, contrary to what appears in the series. The lawyer also refused to have been arrested or served a sentence for any crime of persecution.
In the Scottish woman’s opinion, Richard only did this series for “money” since he “failed” as a comedian.
