Two United States citizens are detained in Afghanistan, in a prison controlled by the Taliban governmentfor violating the rules of Afghan fundamentalists, confirmed this Sunday the regime’s main spokesman, cited by the Efe agency.

“It is unclear why the Americans came to Afghanistan, but whatever purpose they came for, have to obey the law of Afghanistan”, said the spokesman for the Taliban government, Zabiullah Mujahid, in a video broadcast by the TOLO News channel and cited by the Efe agency.

The spokesperson stated that talks are ongoing about this case, but did not reveal the names of the prisoners.

According to Zabiullah Mujahid, the Americans were detained for “violation of Afghan law”. In addition to the North Americans, a Uncertain number of foreigners are detained in the country due to violation of the regime’s rules Islamist, assured the spokesman.

“Anyone traveling to Afghanistan must obey the country’s laws and if they break the law they will face legal action,” he added.
