UA man settled the meal debts of students at 20 schools in the US state of Oklahoma, in honor of his late wife – a cook and restaurant owner – whose main goal was to feed people. And his mission isn’t over yet.

According to CTV News, Sean Cummings is traveling across the state to offer funds to schools to pay off student debt, stressing that he will continue to do so until the money runs out.

“If something bad happens and you have the opportunity to turn it into something good, take it,” said Cummings, who offered almost $2,000 (about 1,800 euros) to settle the lunch debts of 130 students in Chandler, Arizona.

“At the end of the year, some kids have some debt. They carry it over to the next year and the year after that. Some schools take away diplomas and other things if they’re seniors, so I started with those first. Then we paid off all the debts on school lunches”, he clarified.

However, Chandler’s school wasn’t the only one to reap the benefits of his generosity. In fact, it was just one of a long list of schools that Cummings has helped (and still hopes to help).

“We still have 25 thousand dollars (about 23 thousand euros). If it continues to work, we will continue to do it. I will continue to do this as long as there is money,” said Cummings.

The effort began as a tribute to his late wife, Cathy. “She was a chef. She was a restaurant owner and her biggest goal was to feed people,” she recalled.
