OPassengers on a train were forced to abandon the train they were traveling in after the driver had reached the maximum driving time. The passengers continued their journey from Sahagún to León, in Spain, in buses chartered by Renfe.

Those on board were surprised when the train stopped in Sahagún and did not continue its journey. According to ABC News, the driver left the train after finishing “his work day”, and that was the message that passengers read on the station’s screens.

“After about an hour of stopping without knowing the reason, we discovered that the incident” is that “the driver finished his work day”, complained a passenger on the social network X (formerly Twitter).

Javi García also explained that the journey to León took 120 minutes, with the passengers arriving at their final destination “two and a half hours later than expected”.

Renfe explained that on the previous trip the driver had to take another route due to an incident, which caused a delay of 88 minutes. Thus, when the convoy arrived in Sahagún, the driver had already reached the maximum allowed driving time.
