The Russian Foreign Ministry this Wednesday denied information reported by The Washington Post that the United States had warned Russia about possible terrorist attacks at the Crocus City Hall concert hall in Moscow.

At a press conference, the spokeswoman for Russian diplomacy, Maria Zakharova, pointed out that Moscow is used to statements from Washington “which are then refuted by themselves”.

I would like to ask you to present us with concrete facts on this matter”, the spokesperson responded to a journalist who questioned her about the article published by The Washington Post, which cited anonymous sources from the administration of the United States of America (USA).

Zakharova insisted that the American side must reveal “when and to whom they transmitted information” about the terrorists’ plans to carry out an attack on the Russian concert hall, which on March 22 left at least 144 dead and more than 500 injured. .

The secretary of the Russian National Security Council, Nikolai Patrushev, insisted today on blaming Ukraine and the USA for involvement in the attack on one of the main Russian concert halls, where names such as Plácido Domingo, Jennifer López or Elton John performed in the past.

Kremlin (Russian presidency) spokesman Dmitri Peskov said he did not know whether the US warned Russia about a possible attack on Crocus City Hall, as it was information “shared directly between the special services [de segurança]”.

So far, 15 people have been arrested in connection with the attack, four for their direct participation in the shooting and explosions that occurred in the concert hall.

Independent media criticized the Kremlin for focusing its efforts on repressing internal dissent and critical voices opposing the war in Ukraine, forgetting the true threat of terrorist groups and their impact on state security.

The attack was claimed by the ‘jihadist’ organization Islamic State (IS).

Moscow has already admitted that the attack was carried out by a group of Islamists of Tajik origin, but has insisted on the reference to a Ukrainian trail, rejected by Kiev.
