Portuguese woman with “mental illness” causes disturbances in Thailand

-

UA 31-year-old Portuguese woman has caused several disturbances in Phuket, Thailand, in recent weeks, which even led a local newspaper to issue a warning to hotel units on April 21st.

According to the Phuket Times, earlier this month, the woman, who is identified as Nádia, threatened a taxi driver with a knife because she did not have money to pay for the trip. Later, she walked topless (something prohibited in Thailand) through the public spaces of the hotel where she was staying and by the time she was forced to check out she had no money to pay.

“Warning for Phuket hotels: Be careful with this foreign tourist. Nadia has caused chaos again. She booked a hotel room, without money to pay for it. She walks around the hotel topless and asks everyone for money. She also asks for food, but she never pays. Phuket is in trouble because of her”, reads the publication cited by Asean Now, where a photograph of the Portuguese woman is also published, dressed only in a long skirt.

In addition to this image, the Phuket Times also shared several photographs of the interior of the “filthy” room rented by the woman. In it you can see clothes scattered on the floor, empty plastic bottles and other types of rubbish.

Local authorities are investigating the crimes, but so far Nádia, who according to the Chalong Police suffers from a “mental illness”, has not yet been arrested, which is generating consternation among the population.

On social media, a Thai man identified as Kik Yossawadee revealed that Nádia’s family wanted to take her home for treatment, but that she kept running away. Others reported having been victims of theft by her.
