AGerman authorities detained, on Saturday night, a Russian-German citizen on suspicion of stabbing to death two Ukrainians, in the city of Murnau, in the south of the country.

According to the German press, the crime took place near a shopping center in the city, in Upper Bavaria, at around 5:20 pm local time (4:20 pm in Lisbon). The victims are two men, aged 23 and 26, and it is not yet certain whether they knew the attacker, aged 57.

“Two men were victims of a violent act. One died at the scene of the crime, the other in the hospital”, said a police source.

Following police investigations, it was possible to locate and arrest the suspect, who was at home, a few meters away from the shopping center.

The causes of the crime have not yet been determined and local police warned that the investigation “is still in its early stages.”

The suspect, detained on suspicion of two murder crimes, will appear before the criminal investigation judge this Sunday.
