Jareh Sebastian Dalke, aged 32, pleaded guilty in October to six counts of attempting to transmit national defense information to an agent of a foreign state.

The IT specialist spent less than a month at the NSA before suddenly resigning in June 2022, citing family problems.

During this period, he printed secret defense documents and, after his dismissal, tried to sell them to a man he thought was a Russian agent, but who was, in reality, an undercover FBI agent, the American federal police, according to judicial authorities.

“This sentence shows that those who try to betray our country will have to pay for their crimes”, reacted US Attorney General Merrick Garland in a statement.
