UA 34-year-old man died on Tuesday night in Perugia, Italy, after trying to rob a supermarket and escaping through a small window, where he ended up getting trapped.
According to the Italian newspaper La Repubblica, the alert was given at midnight and, when they arrived at the scene, the authorities found the body of the suspect – a man of Tunisian origin, with no fixed address in Italy, and who was already known to the police.
The Carabinieri (Italian police) revealed that the man was caught by the owner of the establishment trying to open the cash register and then fled. He tried to escape through a small window at the back of the place, but ended up being trapped with his body hanging outside and his neck and arms inside. He will have died from asphyxiation.
The body was transported to the morgue of the Santa Maria della Misericordia hospital, in Perugia, to undergo an autopsy in order to determine the causes of death. The case is being investigated.
