DDozens of passengers had to end their journey this Monday by walking along the railway line after the train they were traveling on had been stopped for around an hour in Madrid, Spain. The incident was due to a “signaling failure at the Atocha exit”, Renfe confirmed.

According to 20 minutes, Renfe said that as soon as the information was given over the speaker system, several users activated the emergency opening of doors. The incident caused train traffic delays of an average of 25 minutes.

A young man, who was on the train, guarantees that he was “closed and without air” for an hour. Passengers also report that a girl almost fainted due to the heat and that one person even vomited.

Several elderly people had to be helped to get off the train onto the line. “People were nervous,” said another passenger.

Several videos published on social media show dozens of passengers getting off the train stopped at Atocha station and walking along the line.
