Verdão will also play with a QR code on their shirts, in order to raise donations for the victims of heavy rains in Rio Grande do Sul
Proceeds from next Sunday’s game, against Atlético Paranaense, will be donated by Palmeiras following the heavy rains that affected the state of Rio Grande do Sul.
The city of Porto Alegre, for example, recorded the biggest flood in its history, with the level of the Guaíba river reaching 5.22 meters last Saturday night, more than two meters above the flood level.
The green guy will also use a QR code printed on the shirts, with the aim of raising donations, destined for the NGO ‘Ação da Cidadania’.
«We are all devastated by the tragedy that is affecting Rio Grande do Sul and we will do everything in our power to contribute to the people of Rio Grande do Sul at this difficult time», said president Leila Pereira, speaking on the club’s website.
