Fruit, vaccines and boats: Joana Amaral Dias gave gifts to European candidates – News – SAPO.pt

From European contracts with Pfizer to the national flag, the gifts that the ADN leader distributed to the headquarters of parties running for the next European Championships had in common the mark of irony and criticism. In a unique campaign action, Joana Amaral Dias took advantage of Thursday de Espiga, “a date for celebrating spring and a gift”, to give other candidates symbols of what she considers to be weaknesses or revealing hypocrisy in their respective political paths.

As she herself reports on her official page, none of the candidates received it, however, with the exception of Chega’s head of list, to whom she was able to hand deliver the chosen “gift”.

“For Francisco Paupério, from Livre, we have a photo of former deputy Joacine Katar Moreira, so that he remembers what usually happens to candidates in his party”, explained the ADN list leader, who to the PAN candidate, Pedro Marques, took a box of raspberries, “the kind from plastic greenhouses, like the one had by the leader of his party, Inês Corte Real, who after all does not practice sustainable agriculture”.

On the candidate’s list there was also a toy sailboat for Tanger Correia — remembering that the Chega representative “accepted gifts like two sailboats” during his ambassadorship —, the book I Married a Communist for Cotrim de Figueiredo, for the “confusion” that has led to the departure of IL militants and “the woke ideology that they have been defending”, and a compass for the PCP candidate, João Oliveira, to navigate between the “gimmick to be done the favors to António Costa’s government” and the “unclear positions on the war in Ukraine”.

To BE’s head of list, Catarina Martins, Amaral Dias offered a “recall of the million-dollar injections in banks during the time of the contraption, with her approval”, and to Marta Temido, who advances through the PS after having been minister of Health in times of the pandemic, delivers “the erased contracts with Pfizer, for the experimental covid inoculations that it promoted so much”, the largest in the EU, worth 35 billion euros, and for which “Von der Leyen is being investigated for corruption and conflict of interest”.

Finally, but not forgotten, was the AD candidate, Sebastião Bugalho, to whom Joana Amaral Dias offered “a national flag” to remember the national symbols.
