AOrders for the electric Porsche Macan have already started and even the German construction company itself has been surprised by the high number of sales. The investment appears to be fruitful and the brand is already complaining about excess orders.
Oliver Blume, CEO of the Volkswagen Group and the Porsche brand, considered that the first orders for this new electric car far exceeded expectations, without considering that the company does not yet have the figures for some of its biggest potential markets at its disposal.
“We are overwhelmed by the orders for the electric Macan,” Blume said at the brand’s annual press conference in Leipzig. “We are confident it will be a success,” she added.
Blume also highlighted that, in the first four weeks of this electric version’s debut, Porsche received more than 10,000 orders for the car, a number that does not yet include China, Taiwan or Japan. “The people who placed the order did not touch the car, they did not drove the car. This also shows the substance of this product, that we can continue the success of the Taycan”, he stressed.
The electric Porsche Macan, the first units of which will reach the national market in the coming months, has a price starting at 87 thousand euros.
