PCP calls for a return to “hope in April” and criticizes those who “do everything to destroy achievements”

The secretary general of the PCP today criticized a minority “that has done and continues to do everything to destroy achievements and recover lost power”, seeking to “falsify and rewrite history”, and called for “hope in April” to be restored.

For Paulo Raimundo, “April is not about the majority of young people earning a thousand euros in salary per month”, it is about “youth being able to live, work and make a life for themselves in their own country”.

“April is the SNS and guaranteeing, through it, access to health for everyone. It is the right to public schools and the highest levels of education for everyone. It is the right to housing, not the protection of banks and speculators”, he stressed .

April, he continued, “is against all types of discrimination” and “rejects hatred, racism and xenophobia”, in addition to having freed “the country from fascism and this regime of organized and silenced corruption”.

“April is the path that needs to be taken again, putting an end to the cycle of right-wing politics that has led the country to growing inequalities. This is the great challenge facing democrats and patriots, workers and the people, all those who they live and work here,” he said.

This, considered the communist leader, “is above all a task of the youth, of those who were born and grew up after the Revolution, of the children of the dawn”.

“The task of taking the realization of this April of rights, dreams and fulfillment into their own hands”, he stated.
