The Beijing Motor Show was the stage for the presentation of new products from Nissan. The manufacturer showed four electrified conceptual models “very close to reality”, with different lighting. Check them out!

Nissan CEO Makoto Uchida revealed a series of vehicles during the first press day of the Beijing Motor Show on Thursday, stating that the “models are very close to reality”.

With an epic look in mind, and through conceptual models, Nissan has revealed a new diagonal lighting design for the face of its future electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles.

Two electric vehicle concepts were shown on stage – the Epic crossover and the Epoch sedan – and two plug-in hybrids – the Era plug-in crossover and the Evo plug-in sedan.

The four models show an irreverent lighting design, arranged diagonally, on the front panel of the vehicles.

With the conceptual models, Nissan sought to suggest the five electrified offerings it plans to launch in China by the end of the Chinese fiscal year ending March 31, 2027.

In fact, a production version of the Epoch is expected this year, according to Makoto Uchida.

According to Automotive News Europe, Nissan did not provide details about the style of the new electric vehicle and did not say whether it will migrate to future electric vehicles in other markets. After all, car manufacturers usually develop exclusive designs for the Chinese market, in order to respond to local tastes.

Nissan wants to stay on track so as not to lose ground

As happened to other manufacturers, the lack of competitive electric models caused Nissan's sales to fall in China.

In March, the Japanese manufacturer's CEO revealed a new medium-term plan that aims to introduce 30 new models over the next three years, including 16 electrified vehicles. By March 2027, Nissan plans to introduce eight new electric vehicles.

More than that, from 2027 onwards, a family of next generation trams will be launched, with new technologies, savings and efficiencies.

Nissan believes that, by 2030, its new electric vehicles can reach cost parity with “traditional” cars.
