Marcello Carvalho, Hebe Camargo’s only son, returns to discuss the complex issue of the legacy left by the iconic Brazilian presenter. In an interview with Link Podcast, he reveals details about how he divided his assets with Claudio Pessutti, the presenter’s nephew, who was responsible for managing Hebe’s collection until his death as a result of Covid-19, in January 2021.
In his words, Marcello shares: “I didn’t become rich or poor (laughs). I shared what my mother left with Claudio, who passed away three years ago.” The division includes the house in the exclusive Cidade Jardim neighborhood and the presenter’s valuable jewelry. Marcello explains that they chose to sell the jewelry and keep the house, but the management of the property generated controversy.

According to him, an agreement was signed with Claudio: “I made an agreement with Claudio. I donated the house to him, he paid me rent to live there and when he sold it, I would have a percentage of the house.” However, the situation became the subject of rumors and speculation: “This generated a lot of controversy. They say: ‘the house is going to auction’, ‘the house is abandoned’… And, in fact, that’s not the house.”
Marcello clarifies that the property in question is not the same as the one where they lived, but rather the house next door, belonging to Lélio, Claudio’s uncle. He details: “She bought the house and added it to hers, and it became something very big. There were five, six properties that came together there.” Regarding the sale, he informs that Helena, Claudio’s widow, is in charge of the negotiation and asks for around R$35 million for the property.
Furthermore, Marcello reveals details about Hebe Camargo’s car collection: “The cars sold. I kept one from the collection. The white one that was at the Morumbi Shopping exhibition. That he was her sweetheart.” These revelations bring to light the complexity of family relationships and wealth management after the death of a figure as influential as Hebe Camargo.
