The controversial photos of Emmanuel Macron that are dividing the French

There are two black and white portraits taken by Soazig de La Moissonière and which the official photographer of the presidency of the French Republic shared yesterday, March 19, on her social networks. The images show Emmanuel Macron in boxing training – a sport he has practiced for many years, twice a week in 45-minute sessions – and where he appears, visibly concentrated, punching a boxing bag. An image completely opposite to the air clean and professionalism that the French president displays in his daily life.

The photos quickly became viral on French social networks and gave rise to real discussions about the purpose of publishing them, some of them full of irony and sarcasm. If there are those who enjoyed seeing Macron without a suit and tie fighting, arguing that the images represent just a part of his normal day-to-day life like any other citizen, there are others who do not understand this communication strategy and consider it even unnecessary and offensive.

“These virilistic codes used to the point of overdose. What a misery of politics! What a defeat for progressivism! And what a lack of political communication…”., denounced the ecofeminist Sandrine Rousseau, member of the EELV (Group of the Greens/European Free Alliance) and Nupes, on her account on the social network X, the former Twitter.

At 46 years old, Emmanuel Macron, who is already in his second term, is the youngest French president ever and the protagonist of a love story worthy of a film. At just 15 years old, he fell in love with his teacher, Brigitte Marie-Claude Trogneux25 years older, whom he would later marry in 2007 and who is now the French First Lady.
