In January, Kate Middleton underwent planned abdominal surgery and post-surgical exams indicated the presence of cancer. The Princess stopped attending royal events, which led to a series of theories from the public to justify this “disappearance”. In the video, Kate Middleton explains that she has started taking preventative chemotherapy and adds that it has been “a big shock” for the Royal Family and a difficult few months. At the end of the video she says goodbye with a positive message, stating that she is well “and getting stronger”, asks for privacy and thanks the “fantastic medical team”. It is not yet known what type of cancer it is or how serious it is.

The actress apologized in an Instagram story to Kate Middleton after the recent video was revealed. Lively wrote: “I’m sure no one cares, but I have to acknowledge this. I made a stupid post about the Photoshop uproar, and today it left me tormented. Sorry. I wish you all love and happiness. Ever”. The actress then deleted the photo from social media. The Princess of Wales has not yet reacted to the actress’ apology, nor has the Royal Family. However, other celebrities such as Jimmy Kimmel and Jamie Lee Curtis have already made themselves heard while appealing for the Royal Family’s privacy. Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, sent a message to the princess: “We wish Kate and the family health and healing, and we hope you can do so privately and in peace.”
