I knew I was going to do Beetlejuice as an alternate before I knew who would work with me. And there were some names, like Adnet and Alexandre Nero, but when I found out it was Edu, who I’m a big fan of, it was quite surreal. I remember he started following me on Instagram before we met in person, and then I felt: this guy will be my brother!
João Telles, in an interview with Splash

Telles has a kind of mentor in Sterblitch. “Working with him is like taking a supplement: 50 years in 5. I learn a lot, the guy is a genius, unstoppable. He’s always thinking of something new. He says a phrase to me which is: you have to have a new idea every week, you can’t not have it.”

Beetlejuice has a lot of improvisation, and he does well with it. He gives me a lesson on how to do it.

For Sterblitch, the experience of starring in “Beetlejuice” is a way of experiencing again the humor he got used to in Scream. “I like to do different things and surprise. I don’t miss Pânico because I do ‘Beetlejuice’, a politically incorrect and free humor, which bleeds the joke, and has the drama of the cartoon.”

Upcoming works

The Auto da Compadecida 2. “Auto is an absurd privilege, because it is a classic of Brazilian comedy and cinema, a phenomenon. It will definitely work and is a tribute to the first. We have to celebrate and we can embrace each other again in Brazil.”
