After being forced to leave the house where she lived for decades, Simone de Oliveira admits that she will no longer return – Nacional

It was last year that Simone de Oliveira left the house where he had lived for decades. The same house that holds so many good memories, as it was also where she lived with her great love: Varela Silva. But the singer who lived alone since she became a widowin 1985, wasforced to move to a place where she would be more accompanied. Simone de Oliveira, 86 years old, is therefore living at Casa do Artista, a senior residence where she dedicated her life to art and entertainment. A few months ago, the singer revealed the reasons that led her to make this decision: “My daughter doesn’t live in Portugal and my son is a university professor and has three children. They were afraid that something would happen to me at home, alone, and I stayed there. Therefore, the best thing was for me to be in a place where I was accompanied, with a doctor nearby.“, explained in November 2023 Simone de Oliveira.

The first times spent at Casa do Artista were not that easy, as missed home a lot. Now, months after moving in, Simone de Oliveira, who has a big room and her things nearby, he no longer expects to leave the institution.

“Why go home? It was 50 years. All my memories are there, Varela died there, we got married there… It’s a house of memories and soul, and that’s it, it’s over. When I leave here, this house, I’m going to the cemetery“, he said in an interview with ‘TV7 Dias’ magazine.

And he added: “[Digo-o] with great tranquility and with the certainty that it will be like this. I’m 86 years old and I hope to live at least another ten. I have to say honestly, I’ve already made a contract with divine providence, because I love living.”
