After weeks of speculation, confirmation has finally arrived: Charlotte Casiraghi, daughter of Princess Carolina of Monaco and Stefano Casiraghi, is in a relationship with French writer Nicolas Mathieu. The rumors started circulating about a month ago, but there are new photographs that show that there is more than just friendship between the two, according to “Hola!”.

The pair were seen enjoying lunch on the terrace of a restaurant in Paris, city where the princess lives and where she spent the meal exchanging smiles and gestures of complicity with her companion. After this, Mathieu took the metro to visit the Salon du Livre, at the Grand Palais Éphémère, while Charlotte went to meet a friend on Boulevard Raspail.

Rumors have been circulating in the press for a month, of which the magazine “Voici”, which published photos of Nicolas Mathieu leaving Charlotte’s house in Paris, is an example. The publication also assured that both arrived at the residence the day before. The latest edition of “Paris Match” magazine also featured Charlotte on the cover with the writer during a walk.

Nicolas Mathieu is 45 years old, making him eight years older than Charlotte Casiraghi, who is 37. He has published several works, having won the Goncourt prize, a literary award awarded annually by the Goncourt Academy, in 2018. The book that won him the award was the novel “Leurs enfants après eux” (something like “The children after them”, in Portuguese), an “educational” work about ” disillusionment”, says “France 24”. It focuses on a group of teenagers in the late 90s, in a town in western France.

The romance with Charlotte Casiraghi began after the aristocrat’s marriage to Dimitri Rassam, a film producer, came to an end. Together for six years and married for four, the couple was last seen in public in October and the theory gained strength when Rassam did not appear at his wife’s side on Monaco’s National Day in November, says “Lux”.

Charlotte and the film producer began their relationship in 2018, at the Rose Ball, a charity gala, an initiative of the Princess Grace Foundation, which marks the beginning of spring in Monaco, according to “Tatler”. Dimitri Rassam, with whom Charlotte has a 5-year-old son, Balthazaris the son of French actress Carole Bouquet and French-Lebanese film producer Jean-Pierre Rassam.

Before her husband, the Princess of Monaco had other relationships. This was the case of Italian director Lamberto Sanfelice, who Charlotte Casiraghi met at a film festival in 2015, according to “People”. However, the relationship ended up not being successful, since, in the following year, they were no longer seen together, according to the same source, who says that it was around that time that the aristocrat began to get involved with the now ex- husband.

However, it was with actor and stand-up comedian Gad Elmaleh that she had one of the most popular relationships – and controversial, as they were 16 years apart. The pair started dating in 2011, after meeting at a party, says the same publication, which adds that he is considered one of the best comedians in the country (or “the Jerry Seinfeld of France”, as they call him).

It was only two years after they started dating, in 2013, that the relationship became public, when the pair appeared alongside members of the Monaco royal family at the Rose Ball. However, continued to keep a low profile, even as Casiraghi prepared to give birth to her son, Raphaël Elmaleh, who was born in December of that same year. In 2015, the romance came to an end.

Born and raised in the city of Monte Carlo, Monaco, Charlotte Casiraghi is the granddaughter of American cinema icon Grace Kelly and Prince Rainier III. From an early age, she learned to ride a horse and participated in international competitions, having won numerous competitions in the world of equestrianism – and walked the catwalk at the 2022 Chanel spring/summer show on horseback, according to “Vogue”.

In fact, it is precisely for this French luxury house that she has been an ambassador and spokesperson for four years, but her relationship with the label began before she was born. Her mother, Carolina from Monaco, became a fan of the brand while she was pregnant with it. “It’s almost as if I was born with Chanel,” says the princess in a video. The relationship then blossomed when she became close friends with Karl Lagerfeld, the brand’s former creative director.

Furthermore, he has been the face of brands such as Gucci, Yves Saint Laurent and Louis Vuitton, but fashion is not his only passion. The princess has always been a fan of philosophy, her area of study, having published the book “Arquipélago das Paixões” (2019), in partnership with her former teacher, Robert Maggiori.

He also worked in the world of journalism, having interned at the weekly magazine of the British newspaper “The Independent”, in 2007, and worked at the publisher Pierre Laffont, in Paris. In 2009, Charlotte wrote and edited several articles on Fashion, art and photography for Above magazine and became one of the founders of “Ever Manifesto” magazine.

Now 37 years old, Charlotte Casiraghi has managed to keep her private space away from the agenda of the Monegasque royal family. A good example of this is the fact that the Royal Palace never even confirmed or announced the birth of their children. Charlotte is the daughter of Princess Carolina of Monaco and Stefano Casiraghi, who died in 1990.

It all happened when the three children – Andrea, Pierre and Charlotte – were still very young. At issue is an accident, which happened during a boat race, off the coast of Monaco. Stefano Casiraghi’s boat was traveling at 180 kilometers per hour and overturned, resulting in the businessman’s death.

Stefano Casiraghi was the second husband of Carolina of Monaco, daughter of Rainier III. The news of her untimely death once again reminded the Monegasque royal family of another terrible situation: the death of Princess Grace Kelly, who died at the age of 52, victim of a road accident. In the car was Charlotte Casiraghi’s aunt, Stéphanie, who was just 17 years old and, when driving home from a farm with her mother, they skidded around a curve and fell off a cliff about 40 meters high.
