By bringing together almost two million people on Copacabana Beach, welcoming Anitta and Pablo Vittar on stage with erotic performances and celebrating LGBQIA+ diversity, Madonna made history in Rio de Janeiro. Despite having driven fans crazy with the end of “The celebration tour”, at the show held on Saturday night (4), the artist caused a stir at Copacabana Palace by making a thousand and one demands for herself and her family. The stage was set up in front of the hotel, where the Queen of Pop was staying.

  • After the show: Madonna ‘attacks DJ’ at private party, alongside Diplo: ‘It was cool’, says singer
  • Special participation in the show: Pabllo Vittar talks about ‘butterflies in his stomach’ alongside Madonna and celebrates: ‘Ecstatic until now’

During her stay, Madonna asked for a fence to be placed around her suite’s private pool, according to employees who work in the production and at the hotel. The reason: the star did not want to be seen by the residents of the Chopin building, next to the Copacabana Palace.

— She said she feels exposed. But even though she had more privacy to take a swim, she is finding the sun too hot. Furthermore, she complained about the noise that fans make outside the hotel — explained an employee, who did not want to be identified, to “Jornal de Brasília”.

According to the professional, the Queen of Pop even complained about the stares from the employees. “Madonna complains about everything, including that she can’t look at her much,” he said.

Constant cleaning of the bathroom

According to employees, Madonna demanded a strict routine regarding bathroom hygiene: at least seven cleanings a day. Each time the artist entered the space, it was necessary to sanitize the shower stall, sink and toilet. As the star doesn’t like the scent of cleaning products, she brought some kind of deodorizer to make the room more comfortable.

— They even hired one person to keep the bathroom extremely clean. They sanitize this bathroom about seven times a day — the sources detailed to the website Uol.

Horror in the sun

Rio de Janeiro is known for its tropical climate, intoxicating beaches and the presence of sunshine for much of the year. At first, everyone travels to the Marvelous City to take advantage of the opportunity to dive into the sea and “get” a tan — except Madonna.

From when she arrived, on the 29th, until the show (4), the Queen of Pop did not expose herself to the light of day. The 65-year-old singer confessed to avoiding sun exposure as much as possible since she was young. To do this, she wears long clothes, a hat and glasses when she is under the sun, with the aim of preventing aging by taking care of her skin’s health. All of Madonna’s snaps at Copacabana Palace showed her dressed in sleeveless clothing and sunglasses.

Madonna Suite

Madonna stayed in the hotel’s most expensive suite: the Penthouse Suite Ocean View (penthouse suite with sea views). Facing the stage where the show took place, the room is 104m² in total. It has a single King bed and space to accommodate a maximum of two people. The price of coverage varies between seasons, but a daily rate starts at R$8,500.

Only professionals from the singer’s team and hotel staff were able to circulate around the facilities reserved by the star. The Copacabana Palace restaurants were closed to guests only.
