Actor Rui Santos reveals his fight against cancer. “It was discovered in time” – Current Affairs

It was last year that Rui Santos was diagnosed with cancer. The actor only shared the news this Monday, May 6th.

“On March 13, 2023 I received the results of a biopsy and I was diagnosed with cancer, I underwent surgery three weeks later at the IPO (Portuguese Institute of Oncology), the surgery went well and the entire area was removed”he started by writing in a post on Instagram.

“At the moment I am being monitored, as in all cancer cases. Therefore, I am fine, it was discovered in time and I am calm and optimistic”he also highlighted.

“Thank you for the messages of concern and affection”, he said, also leaving his “sincere tribute to the entire IPO team and the extraordinary work they perform”.

“I was overwhelmed by the spirit of humanity and respect for patients. I cannot describe in words what I felt in that institution. A big hug to all those true heroes who save lives every day,” he added.

In the same publication, the actor also explained that “Only your true friends knew this”.

“I decided to tell what happened in the first person publicly to avoid misunderstandings. I only told my mother last week because I didn’t want her to know. Now everything is clear and here are some more good years of life that living is wonderful”, he concluded.

It should be remembered that Rui Santos became a father for the second time last February.
