A video by Danny Rayes began circulating on TikTok in which he claimed that “influencers were banned from the Met Gala” and that “the days of influencers participating in these events are over.”
Furthermore, it alleges that “supposedly several celebrities complained about the presence of influencers at this event” and that they “threatened not to attend if influencers were invited”. Reportedly, in response, the Met Gala “decided to completely ban all influencers, with the exception of YouTuber Emma Chamberlin.” In the video, the TikToker does not cite sources.

Although some faces present at the gala in previous years, such as TikToker Addison Rae and influencer James Charles, did not attend the Met Gala this year, other names were seen on the red carpet.
