Timon City Council inaugurates, at 4pm this Friday (15th), the ACS Iglésia Alves da Costa e Sousa Medical Center for Imaging Exams. The structure, which will operate in the city center, will provide highly complex exams, with modern equipment.

Among the exams that can be carried out at the Medical Center for Imaging Exams are magnetic resonance imaging, ultrasound and x-rays. Mayor Dinair Veloso highlights that, with the inauguration, the City Hall aims to offer greater agility in diagnostic imaging services to the residents of Timon.

“Timonenses will no longer need to travel to other cities to undergo MRI exams. It is with great joy that the City Hall will inaugurate a specific public unit for highly complex imaging exams, much awaited by the population, which is the Image Center. It certainly represents a milestone for Timon’s municipal health. We will offer modern, quality, humanized service”, highlights the mayor.

The municipal secretary of Health, Márcio Sá, highlights that the Medical Center for Imaging Exams will reduce the waiting time between the appointment of exams and the day of service.

“It is a very important achievement for the people of Timon. The Imaging Center will be essential for accurately diagnosing diseases, which increases the chances of promising treatment. Without a doubt, it will have a positive impact on public health”, emphasizes the secretary.

The Imaging Medical Center pays tribute to the Timon Community Health Agent, Iglesias Alves da Costa e Sousa, who died in 2020 from Covid-19.

Service at the Imaging Medical Center will be provided by appointment in advance with the health units, through the municipal regulation system.

It is worth noting that Timon City Hall already offers imaging exams in the municipal network, such as mammography at the Center for Integrated Women’s Health Care, CAISM, tomography and ultrasound at the Municipal Polyclinic and x-ray at Parque Alvorada Hospital.
