Arapongas City Hall, through the Municipal Department of Public Security and Traffic (Sestran), will hold this Wednesday, 20th, the graduation ceremony for the 13 new municipal guards. The event will take place at Estação Cultural Milene, at 9am. On Friday, the 22nd, the new agents will participate in the graduation celebration dinner, to be held at the Golden Hall Events Space. The secretary of the department, Paulo Sérgio Argati, spoke of the expectation for the training of new municipal guards. “We are moving towards the final stage of training our municipal guards. We have seen the evolution of each of them up close. It will be an important reinforcement for municipal public security,” he said. The mayor of Arapongas, Sérgio Onofre, reiterated his commitment to the area of ​​security, through investments and valorization of personnel. “With this, we will now have 94 fully trained municipal guards. It has a positive impact on security. And this will further reflect on the drop in crime in Arapongas”, he highlighted.
The course
Over the course of four months, the Arapongas Municipal Guard (GMA) Training course included a curriculum from the National Public Security Secretariat (Senasp), in addition to group presentations, training and other actions. The journey also involved training for traffic officers, community policing, knowledge of Law (administrative, criminal, human rights and constitutional), use of weapons, among others – with a workload of 1,070 hours. “Our GMA is a reference throughout Paraná. We have a complete course, taught by GM and coordinator Oliveira, supervisor GM Vagner and GM Bertoli, in addition to technical assistance from other GM instructors”, said Argati. Also cooperating with the development of public security in other municipalities, the Arapongas Municipal Guard Training Course will be attended by five GMs from the city of Cruzmaltina (PR). Joint training is made possible by the Technical Cooperation Agreement between the municipalities.
