The Plenary of the Chamber of Deputies meets in General Committee this Wednesday (27) to debate how the extinction of the Emergency Events Sector Resumption Program (Perse) will impact the sector. The end of Perse is the subject of provisional measures 1202/23 and 1208/24.

Deputy Gilson Daniel (Podemos-ES), one of those who asked for the debate to be held, recalls that Perse was published in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic with two central measures to restore the finances of companies in the events sector: reparcelling of tax debts and the reduction of federal taxes, for 60 months.

“The fair reduction in taxes made it possible to negotiate tax and bank debts, honor commitments with consumers, maintain and expand jobs and invest heavily in the expansion of businesses to attract more tourists” explains the parliamentarian.

According to him, with the extinction of Perse, “the tax burden on companies will increase drastically, interrupting new investments and the payment of debts acquired during the pandemic.”

The debate will be held from 10 am, in the Ulysses Guimarães Plenary.
