Last Friday, March 22nd, the president of TJSC, Des. Francisco de Oliveira Neto, responded positively to the SINJUSC letter and authorized the dismissal, without the need for compensation of hours, of Santa Catarina judiciary workers registered as athletes in the 35th edition of the Judiciary Games.

The decision justifies the dismissal “considering the incentive for the integration of the staff and sports practice, notably after a long period of social distancing as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic”.

The exemption was necessary because the event takes place on the 18th, 19th and 20th of July, which fall on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, respectively. The date of the Games was chosen according to the availability of Unesc, the university in Criciúma that hosts this year’s Games and is a partner with SINJUSC in holding the competitions.

Soon, the SINJUSC board will publish the regulations, modalities and open registration for the most anticipated event of the year. The last Judiciary Games took place in 2019 in the city of Blumenau, as the following year, the edition scheduled to take place in São Miguel d’Oeste was suspended due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
