Procon Arapongas holds technical meeting with Copel representatives

Last Friday, the 22nd, the coordinator of Procon Arapongas, Fabiani Silvério Barbist, met with representatives from Copel, such as the manager of the Arapongas Unit, Aires Augusto Gonçalves Júnior, legal superintendence of Copel, Maurício da Silva Martins and the manager of service department of northern Paraná, Darlan. The technical meeting dealt with important issues, including guidance on the social tariff – a benefit created by the Federal Government, which grants discounts on electricity bills to low-income families throughout Brazil, up to a consumption limit of 220 kWh, and issues related to the problem of inadequate cabling or abandonment of wires by telecommunications companies that cause disruption on the city’s sidewalks and roads. “We have received several complaints from consumers regarding fallen and dangling wires. Therefore, we want to look for alternatives to provide a solution to this issue”, says Barbist. Also according to Procon Arapongas, if the determinations made by telephone operators and internet providers and Copel are not complied with, they will be subject to notifications or fines applied by Procon.
