The Vice President of the Republic and Minister of State for Development, Industry, Commerce and Services, Geraldo Alckmin (PSB), was diagnosed with Covid-19 this Sunday (31). The politician canceled this Monday’s agenda (1st)

The minister has mild symptoms and is doing well. According to the politician’s team, Alckmin will stay at the Jaburu Palace, the official residence of the Vice-Presidency, in Brasília, to recover from the illness.

This is the second time that Alckmin has had Covid-19. The first time was in May 2022, when the politician canceled pre-campaign agendas with the then pre-candidate for the Presidency of the Republic Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT).

Last week, Alckmin participated in official meetings alongside the President of France, Emmanuel Macron. In addition to the signing ceremony of acts related to the National Green Mobility and Innovation Program (Mover) accompanied by Lula.

“Vice President Geraldo Alckmin was diagnosed with Covid and, therefore, will not fulfill agendas at the Vice Presidency and the Ministry of Development, Industry, Commerce and Services, on Monday.

The vice president has mild symptoms and is doing well. He will remain at home for a prompt recovery, according to medical recommendations.”
