Driver dies after colliding with a pole on Avenida Conselheiro Aguiar, in Boa Viagem

One collision between a passenger vehicle and a pole left a man dead in Avenida Conselheiro Aguiar, in Boa Viagem, in the South Zone of Recife. The accident happened around 2:30 am this Monday (29), in front of Diplomata Delicatessen.

According to the Fire Department, upon arriving at the scene, the Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu) noted the death of the driver of the red Onix vehicle involved in the incident.

The driver’s body, 57 years oldwhose name was not disclosed, was stuck to hardwareunderwent forensic examination and was removed from the vehicle by two fire teams sent to the scene.

Because of the collision with the pole, the Electricity supply was interrupted on Avenida Conselheiro Aguiar. A Neoenergia reported that two company teams have been working on the road since dawn to replace the damaged equipment.

“The distributor’s Operations Center is transferring loads to normalize as many customers as possible early this morning. As it is a highly complex service, there is still no forecast for the completion of the replacement of the pole and the reconstruction of the electrical network destroyed during the accident”, stated Neoenergia.

The Military and Civil Police, the Criminalistics Institute (IC) and the Legal Medical Institute (IML) were also in the area of the accident.

The case was registered at the Capital Duty Center (Ceplanc) as a traffic accident with a fatal victim. “The investigations continue until the fact is clarified,” said the PCPE.
