With the support of Arapiraca City Hall, through the Municipal Sports Secretariat (SMESP), nine Judo athletes will compete in the Meeting Alagoas, this Saturday (11), in Maceió.
According to the Andrade Institute, the nine athletes are well ranked by the Alagoan Judo Federation (FAJU) and will participate in this selection in the Under 13, Under 15, Under 18, Under 21 and Senior categories. Those selected will go to the final phase of the Brazilian Judo Championship.
“Any and all support for these athletes is very important and Mayor Luciano Barbosa makes a point of highlighting our support so that we can give each of them an opportunity”, stated the Secretary of Sport, Josenildo Souza.
The professor, Judo coach and president of the Andrade Institute, Clebeson Andrade, highlighted the importance of the selective and the focus of the athletes.
“This selective will define the athletes who will go to the Brazilian championships final stage. Each category will have a defined month. Our athletes are training with focus for this selective”, stated the president of Instituto Andrade, Clebeson Andrade.

The professor also said that the athletes approved in the selection will compete in their respective categories in different months and states. The Arapiraca delegation is made up of nine athletes and three coaches.
