“I wouldn’t have discovered my cancer for another year – at my next scheduled mammogram – if it hadn’t been for my gynecologist, Thaïs Aliabadi, who decided to calculate my Breast Cancer Risk Assessment score. The actress explained that her doctor considered several risk factors, including her age, family history and late motherhood, prompting her to undergo more detailed tests that eventually led to the diagnosis of Luminal B cancer in both breasts.

Munn adds: “I’m lucky. We caught it early enough to have options,” highlighting the urgency of early detection. After the biopsy was confirmed, Munn opted for a double mastectomy, facing a 10-hour surgery. Despite all the setbacks, the actress expressed gratitude for the presence of her friends and family, especially John Mulaney, for his tireless support throughout the process.
