You should, however, be careful about the objects and things you store in this place exposed to very high temperatures, warn experts, cited in Better Homes and Gardens.

Things you shouldn’t store in the oven drawer:

  • Cooking oils are, in general, highly flammable;
  • Wooden cutting boards can be damaged by high temperatures;
  • Cling film, like other objects made from plastic, is easily damaged by high temperatures;
  • Cleaning products like dish detergent, hand sanitizer, and many chemicals found in cleaning solutions are highly flammable;
  • Kitchen cloths are often in contact with substances such as oil and fat. Even after washing they are flammable;
  • Alcoholic drinks, especially those with a higher volume, are flammable;
  • Plastic containers are capable of melting and becoming damaged in the heat.
