Belo Horizonte has already administered more than 37 thousand doses of dengue vaccines since the start of the immunization campaign, on February 27th. With more than a thousand doses applied this Saturday (16), the capital of Minas Gerais reached an average of more than 1.3 children or adolescents vaccinated per minute. The average on Saturday reached almost two people immunized every 60 seconds.

The number corresponds to 74% of all almost 50 thousand doses received by the municipality, which are being applied to the public aged between 10 and 14 years. This Sunday (17), there will be no vaccination anywhere, but the application of the vaccine will resume on Monday (18)

To be immunized, the child must be accompanied by their fathers, mothers or legal guardians. Furthermore, at the time of application, it is necessary to present an identification document with photo, CPF, proof of residential address in Belo Horizonte and vaccination card. What are the symptoms of dengue?

The symptomatic picture of dengue includes, according to the Ministry of Health:

  • High fever (greater than 38ºC);
  • Pain in the body and joints;
  • Pain behind the eyes;
  • Malaise;
  • Lack of appetite;
  • Headache;
  • Red spots on the body;

In addition to these symptoms, the Ministry of Health recommends that people be aware of warning signs and signs of worsening of the condition, which can lead to serious shock and even death. The alarm signals are as follows:

  • Intense and continuous abdominal pain;
  • Persistent vomiting;
  • Accumulation of liquids;
  • Lethargy or irritability;
  • Progressive increase in hematocrit;
  • Mucosal bleeding.
