City Hall carries out a joint effort against dengue in Novo Amparo – CBN Londrina

This Saturday (16), the City of Londrina is holding the “Bota Fora Unidos Contra a Dengue” cleaning campaign, in Jardim Novo Amparo, in the north of Londrina. This is one of the actions developed by the Municipal Health Department to combat possible breeding sites for the mosquito that transmits dengue fever.

Ten trucks and the cleaning team from CMTU – Companhia Municipal de Trânsito e Urbanização are actively working in the neighborhood. The municipal health secretary, Felippe Machado, highlighted that teams are cleaning land and unclogging drains that can also accumulate water.

Endemic disease agents from the health department are visiting homes, raising awareness among residents about the importance of keeping their backyards clean.

Mayor Marcelo Belinati followed the beginning of the work and guaranteed that other joint efforts will be carried out in the city.

The president of the Novo Amparo Residents’ Association, Flavio Alves Folgado, celebrated the arrival of the cleaning effort in the neighborhood. Flavio explained that the community is not always able to dispose of rubble correctly or hire dumpster services.

Businessman Miguel Chaves approved the cleaning effort in the neighborhood and said that this is an opportunity for the population to clean their backyard. Miguel also warns that everyone needs to do their part.
