The São Sepé Public Prosecutor Fernando Mello Müller held, this Wednesday, March 13, a meeting at the Public Prosecutor’s Office with several local bodies and institutions to discuss actions to prevent and combat dengue fever.

On that occasion, the promoter and representatives of the City Council and the subsection of the OAB presented a series of suggestions for measures aimed at intensifying and improving administrative action to prevent and combat the transmission of dengue, all of which were accepted by municipal bodies, among which strengthening awareness, administrative sanctions, including as a pedagogical and exemplary action for those responsible for places at flagrant risk of spreading mosquitoes and the virus; inspection by drone and criminal implications and acting in conjunction with the Military Brigade, such as registering police reports in cases of residents who do not allow inspection to enter.

Environmental Surveillance representatives reported on the measures that have already been adopted by the Municipality of São Sepé to contain the spread of the “Aedes Aegypti” mosquito, which transmits the dengue virus, such as a contingency plan and formation of a committee to combat dengue, visits to properties in the region, channels to report possible dengue outbreaks, holding lectures on prevention in schools, and distributing repellents to children in schools, pregnant women, breastfeeding women and people with comorbidities.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the São Sepé OAB subsection, Municipal Attorney General’s Office, Environmental Surveillance; Municipal Development Office, Infrastructure Secretariat, Health Secretariat; and the Health and Social Assistance Committee of the São Sepé City Council.
