A survey, published in European Journal of Preventive Cardiology, brought good news for those looking for ways to prevent increased blood pressure.

According to a report from the Ministry of Health, the number of adults with diagnosis of hypertension increased by 3.7% in 15 years in Brazil, from 2006 to 2021.

How was research into the effect of tomatoes on blood pressure conducted?

The research analyzed the lifestyle and eating habits of more than 7,000 Spanish adults at high risk of developing cardiovascular disease, focusing especially on the consumption of tomatoes and derived products, such as sauces.

Participants were divided into four groups based on the daily amount of tomatoes consumed, ranging from low to high amounts.
