Hospital do Centro-Norte Goiano has 136 surgeries and 327 discharges at the Oncology Center, in January and February 2024

Goiás Government Unit in Uruaçu carried out, in the same period, more than 700 chemotherapy sessions and 2,535 consultations

The Oncology Center of the Hospital Estadual do Centro-Norte Goiano (HCN) recorded a total of 136 oncological surgeries performed and 327 patient discharges granted in the first two months of 2024. In the same period, the Goiás Government unit, located in the municipality of Uruaçu, also carried out more than 700 chemotherapy sessions and 2,535 consultations, offering the best in cancer treatment for the entire population of Goiás.

A reference in oncological treatment in the Unified Health System (SUS), the HCN Oncology Center has 21 clinical inpatient beds and 15 surgical beds, an outpatient clinic with an office and chemotherapy, state-of-the-art equipment and a team dedicated to oncological care, both for clinical and surgical treatment.

Jandira Ferreira recently completed her cancer treatment at HCN and had the opportunity to ring the Bell of Hope, installed in the unit to symbolize victory in the fight against cancer. “I thank the doctors, nurses and the entire HCN team for the support I had here during each stage of my treatment. It was a very difficult battle, but, thanks to God and these great doctors here, I emerged victorious”, says Jandira.

Humanized service
In addition to cutting-edge equipment, HCN aims to ensure humanized reception and care for patients and their companions. The hospital’s oncology center has a specific space for family members, as well as a beauty salon, makeup and tissue workshops, all to guarantee the best care during all stages of the fight against cancer. With a multidisciplinary team, the health unit offers individualized treatment and provides psychological care and social assistance services, in addition to monitoring by an oncologist.

Scheduling can be done for patients who already have a confirmed diagnosis or for those who need to define their diagnosis. The outpatient clinic has an oncologist present from Monday to Friday, serving the entire population of the northern region of the state of Goiás.
