Baixada Santista will receive 28,761 doses of the dengue vaccine to be administered to children and adolescents between 10 and 14 years old. The vaccine is applied in two stages, at an interval of three months, to achieve an effective response. (see more details below).
The announcement of vaccination in the State of São Paulo was made by the Ministry of Health, last Thursday (25). According to the São Paulo State Epidemiological Surveillance Center (CVE), Each municipality will be responsible for the vaccine application strategy.
To the g1CVE informed that it is awaiting information from the Ministry of Health about sending doses to the Epidemiological Surveillance Groups (GVEs) in the region.

The vaccines intended for the application of the 2nd dose of the dengue vaccine will be sent later, considering the recommended interval of 3 months for the 1st dose.
To date, Brazil has recorded 3.8 million probable cases of dengue, of which 40.4 thousand are serious cases and 1.7 thousand deaths.
Dengue mosquito larvae develop in stagnant water. Therefore, to eliminate mosquito breeding sites, it is recommended to cover water tanks and other reservoirs, sanitize pet water pots and cover drains and sinks.
