WhatsApp, a social network with 2 billion users worldwide, went offline on Thursday afternoon (the 3rd). There are complaints from internet users in several countries. Instagram, also belonging to Meta, went through problems together.

More than 124,000 complaints about the platform’s operation were registered at around 3:19 pm, Brasília time, on the Downdetector website, which monitors network problems.

For WhatsApp, there was a peak in complaints at 3pm in Brazil. The main complaint is the failure to send messages. In Downdetector, they represent 62% of records.

According to the Meta services health status page, WhatsApp is facing a problem with the cloud service.

“We are currently experiencing an outage impacting service on Cloud API. (…) Our engineering teams are investigating the issue. We will provide another update within 4 hours, or sooner if additional information is available,” the company said .

Both the smartphone application and WhatsAppWeb are unstable. And also WhatsApp Business, used for shopping and business.
