According to data released this Tuesday (30) by the Ministry of Health, 4,176,810 probable cases of the disease were reported across the country in the first four months. The incidence rate of the disease in the country is 2,056.9 cases for each group of 100 thousand inhabitants.

Currently, 13 states, in addition to the Federal District, show a downward trend in the number of cases: Acre, Amapá, Espírito Santo, Goiás, Minas Gerais, Paraíba, Paraná, Rio de Janeiro, Rio Grande do Norte, Rondônia, Roraima, Santa Catarina and São Paulo. Another eight states have a stable trend: Alagoas, Amazonas, Bahia, Maranhão, Mato Grosso do Sul, Pernambuco, Piauí and Rio Grande do Sul. The states of Ceará, Mato Grosso, Pará, Sergipe and Tocantins continue to show an increasing trend.

“We still need to pay attention. We climbed the mountain, now we are going down, but we still have many cases that can happen and deaths that can be avoided”, warned the Secretary of Health and Environment Surveillance at the Ministry of Health, Ethel Maciel, in an interview.
