Film “Time Switch Aveiro” receives award for Best Tourism Short Film – News

The NATOURALE Festival takes place every two years in Wiesbaden, Germany. The films are shown in four cinemas in the State of Hessen, including Wisbeden, with the famous Murnau cinema as the main venue. The award ceremony takes place in the majestic Kurhaus palace.

An international panel of filmmakers rewards the most impressive films of recent years in the areas of nature, environment, travel and tourism. The objective is to highlight the best audiovisual productions that contribute to guiding humanity towards a sustainable future.

The director of the Festival, the multi-award winning German filmmaker Andreas Ewels, says: “People only protect what they know and respect, that’s why travel and the spirit of discovery are very important. But exploration must be done with the utmost respect for the nature, so we don’t destroy everything by discovering our world. We only have one planet”.

The award given to the film “Time Switch Aveiro” is a great recognition for the Centro de Portugal Film Commission (CPFC), Eureka Films, Turismo Centro de Portugal, Aveiro City Council and CITUR – Polytechnic of Leiria.

Francisco Dias, Vice-President of the Centro Portugal Film Commission, Tourism researcher at the Polytechnic of Leiria and Director of the ART&TUR Film Festival, says: “I am very proud of this great achievement, as it was a zero-budget film that we produced for demonstrate that a new model of tourism is possible, much better and more sustainable”.

The film uses a narrative approach by Marco Calábria and Bruno Calanca Nishino (Eureka Films) to present a scientific proposal by Francisco Dias – the new 3S (Slow – Smart – Small) tourism model -, while promoting Aveiro as a tourist destination. , having been produced by ART & TUR – International Tourism Film Festival that took place in Aveiro in 2021.
