On February 27th, the poster for the 588th edition of the March Fair was presented.
It is on the 23rd of March that the biggest economic exhibition in the Central Region begins and one of the largest amusement parks in the country. The event runs until April 25th at the Aveiro Exhibition Park. This year it is once again divided into the traditional exhibition, commercial and entertainment sectors.
There are 100 companies on display, divided into areas as diverse as IT, automobiles, cosmetics, furniture, real estate, events, construction, photography, orthopedic products, renewable energy, air conditioning, decoration, automation or fuels.
The commercial sector (in the outdoor area) features 60 companies/exhibitors in the areas of catering, charcuterie, sweets, hearty dishes, traditional crockery, ready-to-wear, crafts, among others. In turn, the entertainment sector, which makes the March Fair one of the largest amusement parks in the country, presents 50 amusements, with a total of 210 companies present.
This edition features «ten great concerts». José Cid (March 23), MC Daniel (March 29), Dillaz (March 30), Ganda Maluco, João Claro, Kit Carlos and Nel Monteiro (April 1), Os Quatro e Meia (April 5), Ivandro (April 6), Lon3r Johny (April 12), Ana Moura (April 13), Hybrid Theory (April 19) and Nininho Vaz Maia (April 20). On these days tickets will be paid, with prices between three and six euros (MC Daniel, the most expensive show). The exception is the first day of the event, March 23, when access to the venue is free. “We wanted to offer the first concert to our citizens, within the scope of Aveiro’s seal as the Portuguese capital of culture”, made clear Ribau Esteves, president of the Chamber.
According to the Mayor, 650,000 visitors are expected, 50,000 more than in 2023. The mayor stated that the investment in the 2024 fair amounts to “around 440 thousand euros, slightly higher than last year”.
Free entry on Sundays has proved to be one of the successes of recent editions. Thus, the measure is repeated, transforming this day into a true meeting of families and friends.
