Preparing to participate in another event in the Portuguese Rally Championship, driver Rafael Cardeira once again put the initiative into practice 1 Rally 1 Institutionwith a visit to a social solidarity institution and contact with the local population.

In the Algarve, where the Ralli Casinos do Algarve starts tomorrow, the Marinha Grande driver visited the Centro Popular de Lagoa and, with the support of Fundação Sporting, CO2 Auto, QF, Lda and UHU Portugal, distributed school, teaching and sports material by the institution’s children.

“Returning to preparing a rally is also synonymous with dedicating some of our time between reconnaissance to contact these children who, otherwise, might not even know that the race takes place in their regions”, said Rafael Cardeira, quoted in a statement from press.

The Centro Popular de Lagoa is a Private Social Solidarity Institution (IPSS) that provides services to society and the family, with support for the elderly, children with daycare and a center for leisure activities.

“More than knowing that there is a competitive side associated with it, we want to make our contribution by getting closer from a personal point of view, sharing experiences, distributing gifts and, in some cases, simply playing with young people”, said the athlete.

Rafael Cardeira, with his co-driver Luís Boiça, continue today with the reconnaissance work for the Rali Casinos do Algarve, to enter the competitive environment from tomorrow, Friday.

In addition to the Marinhense, fellow countryman Ernesto Cunha and Leiriense Luís Caetano also participate in this race.
