Startup Braga is in 7th place in the list of 125 European incubators and accelerators included in Europe’s Leading Start-Up Hubs 2024. This is a ranking by Statista in collaboration with the British newspaper Financial Times that also recognizes Portugal as the 6th country with the most innovative startup hubs in Europe.
Over a decade of activity, the support structure for innovation and entrepreneurship, created by the Municipality of Braga within InvestBraga, has promoted several training programs for entrepreneurs, as well as pre-acceleration, acceleration and incubation of startups, which have impacted projects positively, with a survival rate of 75% today.
The portfolio of initiatives promoted or co-promoted by Startup Braga includes programs such as “Startup Point”, carried out in collaboration with the Academic Association of the University of Minho, the School of CEOs, carried out in partnership with UMinho Exec, the SCB Innovation Hub , a startup acceleration program in the area of sports technologies, promoted in partnership with SC Braga, which has allowed startups to test and validate their products and services in a real environment, iTech Tourism, a program aimed at leveraging innovative solutions in the tourism sector, or the Startup Braga Acceleration Program, developed in partnership with Altice and Microsoft, which has already had nine editions.
For Ricardo Rio, Mayor of Braga, 7th place in this European ranking “is the recognition of an increasingly solid innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem and the work developed by the Startup Braga and InvestBraga teams over these almost 10 years ”. “The merit of the innovative ideas and projects that choose Braga to start and leverage their businesses is recognized, above all, and of an entire community of entrepreneurs, mentors and strategic partners who have played a decisive role in building this ecosystem”, states the mayor.
Startup Braga is InvestBraga’s innovation hub and has its headquarters at gnration, a historic building in the center of Braga.
