A decision by the District of Madeira was annulled by the Lisbon Court of Appeal. At issue is the appeal presented by two men sentenced to prison for drug trafficking in Porto Santo. The new trial is already scheduled for the beginning of April and will be presided over by another judge.

The subject makes today’s headline, in an edition in which we once again publish a survey that now evaluates the performance of the different party leaders in the Region.

In this Intercampus opinion study for JM and JMFM, five regional party leaders perform unfavorably. The survey concludes that Miguel Albuquerque has the biggest drop in popularity among all the names presented to respondents. Élvio Sousa gets a better grade than Paulo Cafôfo.

On the other hand, in the internal changes in the CDS, after the announcement of Rui Barreto’s withdrawal, José Manuel Rodrigues’ candidacy is now confirmed. The current president of the Legislative Assembly of Madeira is once again a candidate, in an election that will be decided at the congress scheduled for April 13th.

In the “Plaza com” interview space, in the Plaza Madeira Shopping Center, the cook Júlio Pereira became a businessman who already heads four restaurants and a regional confectionery factory.
