National Meeting of Sociology Students takes place in Faro

Faculty of Economics at the University of Algarve

The “National Meeting of Sociology Students 2024” will take place from the 3rd to the 6th of April, in Faro, at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Algarve, on the Gambelas Campus. Under the theme “Global Portugal: Where we came from and where we are going”, the meeting promises a retrospective of the first 50 years of democracy and a perspective of the next.

The initiative, organized by the Sociology Student Center of the Academic Association of the University of Algarve (AAUAlg), aims to bring together students, teachers and Sociology enthusiasts in a national meeting, to create bonds, debate ideas and share knowledge.

According to the organizing committee, “by employing the principles of interdisciplinarity and plurality, the aim is to understand Portugal as a whole, in order to build a freer, fairer and more supportive society”.

The event includes lectures, debate panels, gatherings in places that allow you to get to know the city of Faro, and opportunities to establish connections, collaborations, and contact networks. Topics to be covered include politics, economics, territorial development, education and tourism, among others.
